Ma-Ba Zombies
TRU:TEKs new Gory Hole release: “Warui Zonbi!” Yes, the Gory Hole is finally opening, after being announced late last year. This “SS Werewolf” character is only a part of the “Warui Zonbi” series, which as a whole is inspired by the ゾンビーズ series from 1987, better known to fans as the Ma-Ba Zombies (named thus as it was a collaborative release between Mattel and Bandai). With each of the Gory Hole released soft vinyl finger puppets standing roughly 2½-inches tall, we think that artist Radioactive Uppercut did a great job interpreting the figure, his original drawing pictured below alongside the prototype sculpts by Makino-san of TTToy. We’re told that every figure in this Gory Hole released series will be inspired by a different horror film element of the ’80s and ’90s, and the next one to be unveiled will based off of Dead Alive in some way! While we can’t wait to see that, we really can’t wait for Designer Con, when these will debut. If you’re fans of An American Werewolf in London, the quick scene picture below is surely recognizable for you. Having become known as the SS Werewolf character, this was the inspiration behind the piece.
